Job Description:

 

Primary focus of the position will be on leading a small accounting function, so they would like extensive controllership experience, preferably at a small to mid-size public company. Responsibilities will also include SEC financial reporting, SOX compliance efforts, operations, budgeting/forecasting, financial analysis, and special projects.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have:

 

The ideal candidate will possess 10- 15 years of experience, including at least three years as the controller or CFO of a company with annual sales of at least $25 million, as well as three to four years of Big 4 public accounting experience. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal skills, as well as a willingness to bring a hands on approach to managing the department. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks is a must. Candidate hired must be a strategic, outside of the box thinker, but also be willing to roll up their sleeves.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

A background in the financial services industry is a big plus, especially if it includes having served as a principal accounting officer of a fully-disclosed broker-dealer. Certified Public Accounting (CPA). Big 4 public accounting. Financial services and broker/dealer experience. Series 27 License.
